Biopsy
A biopsy is the removal of a small amount of tissue from the body. The tissue is prepared in special ways in the laboratory and is carefully studied under the microscope. This allows accurate diagnosis of many different types of diseases. Because of the many studies performed on the biopsy sample up to a week may be required before the study is completed.
