Uses: This medication is used to treat serious fungal infections.
Comment: Fluconazole is usually well tolerated by ICU patients. The doctor will monitor for side effects including drug interactions. Several serious drug interactions have been described with this medication. Side effects are usually minor and may include rash, itching, headache, nausea and liver abnormalities. Once the medication is removed the side effects stop.
