The Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) was founded in 1970 and is the only professional organization devoted exclusively to the advancement of multidisciplinary, multiprofessional critical care through excellence in patient care, education, research and advocacy. The members of SCCM — the intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacologists and pharmacists, scientists, researchers, bioengineers, critical care industry executives and other allied health professionals involved in the care of the critically ill and injured — blend the knowledge, skill and expertise into a coordinated effort to achieve the best possible outcome for the patient. |
